About Irish Network Portland
Our Mission & Purpose
Irish Network Portland (INP) exists to promote and strengthen Irish culture, heritage, and professional connections in Oregon and Southwest Washington.
We serve as a vibrant hub for social, cultural, and business engagement — fostering meaningful ties between Ireland and the Pacific Northwest.
Whether you were born in Ireland, have Irish heritage, or simply feel connected to the culture, you’re welcome in our community.
What We Do
Cultural Engagement
We celebrate Irish creativity and community spirit through events and performances.
INP supports Irish artists touring Portland with event promotion, ticket discounts, and raffles. We also organize happy hours, concerts, and gatherings that keep Irish culture alive — and friendships thriving.
Consulate Collaboration
As a trusted local partner to the Consulate General of Ireland, we help connect the Irish community to official resources.
Recent collaborations include hosting a Portland passport clinic, where Consulate staff provided citizenship and passport guidance to local families.
Community Celebrations
We proudly marked Ireland’s first official St. Brigid’s Day holiday with a family celebration in Portland.
INP also partners with local organizations to highlight Irish culture through sports, music, and family-friendly events year-round.
Business & Trade Partnerships
We connect Irish and American business communities to create opportunities and shared growth.
INP has hosted representatives from Enterprise Ireland, Prosper Portland, Columbia Sportswear, and Trade Oregon to explore trade initiatives. We also support legislative efforts and civic engagement through board participation and partnerships with regional leaders.
Local Collaborations
We work closely with local organizations — from the Portland GAA to Irish-owned businesses — to build an inclusive and supportive network.
Whenever possible, INP events are hosted at Irish-owned venues, helping sustain the businesses that keep our community connected.

From hosting local gatherings and concerts to supporting Irish performers, businesses, and cultural initiatives, we work to create meaningful links between Ireland and Oregon’s Irish-American community.
We’re volunteers, but also storytellers, organizers, and advocates — helping Irish culture thrive in Portland through laughter, collaboration, and good conversation (preferably over a pint).
Whether you’re Irish-born, Irish by heritage, or just Irish at heart, we’re glad you’ve found us. Fáilte — you’re among friends.

Gabrielle Maher
President
Born and raised in Dublin, I moved to Lake Oswego in 1989 with my husband and four children. An entrepreneur at heart, I founded and operated the beloved Irish restaurant and bar Maher’s in Lake Oswego, as well as a brewery in Oregon City.
My background in business and hospitality has given me a deep understanding of negotiation, leadership, and the power of community connection. As President of Irish Network Portland, I lead a vibrant cultural, social, and business organization that connects Irish and Irish-American communities across the Pacific Northwest and Ireland.
My love for Ireland—its people, culture, and storytelling—continues to inspire everything I do, whether I’m organizing an INP event or helping clients find a place to call home.
